A Fall Family Session in the PNW. These will forever be a favorite of mine, you’ll see why browsing through these images. This family decided to take photos during golden hour (the absolute best time to take photos because of how amazing the light is). We went into the session wanting to also capture some quick maternity and motherhood photos for this growing family. The PNW has a ton of options as far as fields go, which helps create this dreamy golden look. One of my favorite field locations in Seattle is Discovery Park.
This last fall it was still eighty degrees in the middle of October, so we were able to still get away with short sleeves and dresses for this fall family session in the PNW! My biggest piece of advice when planning out outfits for your session – go with neutral colors or colors that go with your home, especially if you plan on printing and hanging your photos. Colors that compliment each other instead of matching will always elevate the look of your photos. Bringing props can also bring an interesting element to your gallery. You’ll notice the mom wore a hat and brought her daughter dried florals to play with. Incorporating a sheet as a backdrop was also another fun idea to bring variety into the session. If you need help with ideas on what to bring or something you can add, let me know!
If you ever want to mix a maternity shoot with a family shoot I would love to chat! Capturing your growing family is always so special. These years will fly by and I always have repeat clients commenting on the fact that they are so happy they had made the time to document each year to look back on for years to come.
