A studio maternity session in Downtown Seattle? Sign me up. I love to add something or do photo sessions in a unique and non traditional way, so when Erika wanted to do something different I was more than excited to start brainstorming ideas. First, I went online to find a studio that had a natural light vibe. I stumbled on Northlight Studio 3 in downtown Seattle and immediately fell in love.

I wanted to add a twist to the session and after some research stumbled upon Maria who runs fellow florist. She makes floral tattoos which are basically a sticker of real flowers. Instantly, I knew I wanted to add this to the baby bump for this studio maternity session in downtown Seattle.

Everything came together so beautifully. Still can’t believe how lovely the floral work came out. I knew Maria would do an amazing job but am still in awe of her talent. The florals really popped in the photos and made this Studio maternity session really unique.

For the outfit we decided we wanted the flowers to be the star of the show. Sticking with a laid back look was key. We choose blue on top for the first outfit because she is having a baby boy and because it really pulled the blue out of the floral tattoo. Denim bottoms completed the look. For variety we added a plain white button down. Outfits for sessions do not have to be expensive – most of these looks are from Zara and H&M.
