When Peter and Heidi reached out for an engagement session on Vashon Island I was so excited! I had never taken photos on the Island before and there is nothing better than golden hour at the beach. We took the ferry over from Tacoma. The plan was to take a few photos on the ferry ride over which gave the session so much more variety. Sunshine greeted us upon arriving to the park! Such a nice surprise considering the weather called for clouds and rain. It was so fun to venture all over the park. Maury Island Park offers a vast variety of scenery including beautiful pathways, trees, and of course; the beach. I have never seen such a gorgeous golden hour as the one we got. The clouds seemed to diffuse the sun enough so we were able to capture the most gorgeous glow.

A great thing about choosing to add on an engagement session when you book a wedding with me is that we have that time to get to know each other before the wedding. I always tell my couples that the best photos come from being comfortable with your photographer. I like to make sure we feel like friends before your wedding day that way you already know what to expect and don’t have to worry about photos!

I had so much fun at this engagement session on Vashon Island and I absolutely can’t wait for their wedding in June! They are the sweetest couple and I know it will definitely be one for the books!
